elf makeup pretty much dominates my collection. I own their brushes, face products, lip colors and even one of their nail polishes. It’s an affordable brand that performs, for the most part, awesomely. So, when I found some items from elf Cosmetics for $1 at my local Dollar Tree, I had to get them.
Remember that video where I took you shopping with me? Well, here’s a close up of the items I got. On this Goodwill haul I show you the pieces and I also wear them. Take a look! 😉
My night-time skincare routine is not complicated, nor it requires the use of expensive products. Yet, I go to bed every night with make-up-free, clean skin. Why make it complicated, right?
The first thing I do is remove the first layer of make-up from my skin using baby wipes. I get them at Family Dollar for around $3.75 each package (they come with about 72 wipes) Of all the brands I’ve tried, Luvs has so far been my favorite.
The next step in my night-time skincare routine is to remove whatever is left of my eye make-up, especially my mascara (I use waterproof). For that, I use Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser and a baby wipe (which I used to apply the cream to my eyes and remove the make-up).
After that, I clean my skin. On a normal day, I will use the Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cleanser. It’s a super mild exfoliator, gentle enough for daily use.
If I feel I want more cleansing, I will use my Sirius Sonic Skincare System on my face (with the Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cleanser still on) for a few more seconds.
On days when I want deeper cleaning, I will instead use the Up & Up Apricot Blemish Scrub which is pretty awesome. I especially enjoy the cooling sensation it gives as you apply it.
After rinsing whatever cleansing product I chose, I dry my face with a clean towel and apply a rich moisturizer. The one I’ve been loving for many, many years is the Avon Nurtura Replenishing Cream. It’s thick but it doesn’t clog your pores.
Around my eyes, I use the L’Oreal Advanced RevitaLift Eye Day/Night Cream. This is by far the most expensive item in my night-time skincare routine. It’s around $12. I’ve been using it for many years and I like it. Does it keep the skin around my eyes youthful? I don’t know. As with most beauty products, I’m a bit of an agnostic. I believe they mostly play a psychological role in our lives. Genetics, water intake, sleep time, stress levels, and the like play a more crucial part in how we look and how we age. That’s my humble opinion.
